If you're a long-time reader of my blog, you may remember that I featured the Clinique Superbalanced Foundation in my first ever post. It was my first ever foundation aged 13 and one that I keep coming back to whenever I need a good all-rounder that I can put my trust in. One of the few foundations I've used without SPF, it's great for nights out and general photography and filming. It gives great coverage and lasts all day, evening my skin tone and giving a beautiful satin finish. Clinique have actually just released a silk version
of this foundation, so I'd be interested to try that and see how they compare.
Will kindly bought this for me for Christmas (with a little hinting) as I'd been wanting to try it for ages. I was hoping it would be an alternative to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders
but, having not tried them, I can't say for sure. It comes with two translucent powders- a matte powder and a glow powder- for setting base products (contrary to what I said in my recent video
, the glow powder is not intended as a highlight).
Though the lasting power and pigmentation doesn't match up to my Rimmel Stay Matte, the finish these give is phenomenal. They make makeup look so natural and flawless and the glow side gives a real glow-from-within. I enjoy using both sides together; matte through my t-zone where I get most oily and glow on the high points of my face.
